Imagine my surprise
I received this as a gift from the compassionate emergency room staff after approximately 3 trips to their fine establishment.
Apparently "everyone" has lights at the top of their stairs and no one stores Lego's at the bottom. While I find that very hard to believe, I capitulated and graciously assembled this lamp.
It seemed to mock me from the moment I began to read the instructions but it went together very easily.
Yet still, there was an odd feeling in the hall at the top of the stairs that only moving the lamp near the door would abate. So I did.
The next morning I headed to work and actually thought about what a fun lamp I was gifted. Okay, this is weird but I actually wanted to go home early a few times just to see the lamp and figure out why it caused feelings.
Alas, I waited out the clock and punched my time card.
Catching the bus home was fun and I talked about the lamp to a stranger. I even showed her a photo of it. We laughed and laughed.
So I'm walking from the bus stop, start up my walk whistling and then I hear voices inside the my house. Must have left the TV on I said out loud to myself. The voices stilled.
As I just slightly opened the door I detected a faint smell of perfume, now this was really odd. Opening further, the wall of perfume overwhelmed me so much so I didn't immediately see the other lamps in the room.
Then the complete picture unfolded, my gift lamp is a pimp.
It seems I left it too near the door and unbeknownst to me this lamp can actually manipulate door hardware.
Yes. You need this lamp.
We recently updated our living room and needed a floor lamp to go behind the sectional. Being strange humans who prefer random things in our home, this lamp was exactly what we were looking for. I didn't tell my husband what I bought, just that it was coming and he can put it together if he wanted to while I was out for the day. He said it was a breeze to assemble, took him about 10 minutes but he did spend a good 20 after that putting it into different positions. The position shown in the photos was edited for PG content. This lamp can be posed all sorts of ways! Just saying....
The man was super impressed with the whole product. Said it came very well packaged which I did see when I got home. He saved it for me because he was so impressed by it. The lamp even came with some sweet fabric gloves to use during assembly so you avoid marking up the lamp. Not that you would unless your hands were covered with grease but it's a nice little detail. They're a bit small for my lanky fingers but I did nail my 'pulling the rope from the box' mime trick regardless.
The light comes with a LED bulb too. It's a cool white so I'm going to swap it out with a warm one, not a super huge fan of the bluish undertones of the cool LEDs but to come with a bulb, that's just awesome. Not a lot of lamps come with lightbulbs anymore.
The instructions were easy, basically a diagram with numbers. It's mostly common sense - how to put this together. A modified puzzle if you will.
The cord is great. Heavy duty and fabric covered in orange to match the orange of the lamp.
If you check out the photos, you can see the one foot slides back and fourth on a track and is tightened into place to allow you to create different positions. The other foot is attached directly to the base. The base is pretty solid, the lamp overall is lightweight but not too light it would fall over unless bumped into. I can lift it with one hand but it does feel very firm and solid. Not flimsy and unstable. There was a lot of thought put into this design it seems. Lots of attention to detail.
I'd say this is a fantastic purchase and I'm super thrilled I decided to go for it. I know this will totally get people talking when they come over and who doesn't love to talk about lamps? ;)
We wanted something unique and fun and made to last. This is it! I would highly recommend this awesome light if you're in the market for an interesting lamp.
Cute floor lamp indeed.
Got exactly what I expected. Not a high-end, fancy fixture - a nicely priced, fun lamp I could drop in a corner and add some lumens to my home office.
Super easy to assemble (look at the picture – follow along). Came with extra bolts/washers/etc. and I LOVE that. Hate when a company fails to include the required hardware for assembly. Love that they included extra!
I found that once assembled and positioned, I had to go back once to tighten everything. Not sure if that was because I was not aggressive enough the first time, but once I went over it again, works great – stays in place.
Want something charming, unpretentious and fun that lights up a section of room? I recommend you consider this floor lamp
I'm happy with the lamp
I'm not sure it was worth the whole $99... Depends on how durable it'll be through time I think.
Don't put this somewhere where you'll need it to make an impact from the front. This is all about the side view.
Where the pieces go into the base is a tad wobbly but personally that doesn't bother me.
The directions for putting it together aren't great but they aren't horrible. I had fun putting it together actually.
The hardware feels a little cheap, like how the threads seemed to have some rough spots, etc., but i don't think it'll hurt anything in the long run.
For my purposes, this lamp is perfect. I'm redoing my bedroom and i want a light hearted atmosphere and also to hang my artwork. I love the idea of a posable "stick man" pointing to my art.
Here's some pics to remind you to keep in mind that he doesn't look impacting head on... He's a caddy Corner kind of guy. I named him Slim.
Quite amazing for kiddos
I must say, it was highly easy to put together and I enjoyed setting it up. The bulb is nice and bright, but the best part is that you can position the lamp in different ways.
It is great fun and once my boys start moving it around, I will update the sturdiness of this product
Great Idea, Innovative, Artsy, Functional and Fun!
Have you ever found a product that you wanted to show off to everyone? I was looking for a floor lamp and I was going to go for those new led ones until I saw this. I love that it's made out of wood! And seriously, a person! Reminds me of the people that put lampshades on their heads at parties lol! And now I see they have a dog lamp too! Ok, super easy to assemble, and I mean super easy! Love that you can put it in different positions. And I am thinking of a cool name for it, that's right I am naming my floor lamp lol! I am putting it in the front window, like the leg lamp in, "Christmas Story" for all my neighbors to see. Great idea, wish I would have thought of this!
