Uniqueidentifier 0. For example, this query returns the expected record: select * from items where itemGUID. sql_variant. I'm trying to manually create a new user in my table but impossible to generate a "UniqueIdentifier" type without threw an exception.
The uniqueidentifier is datatype in SQL Server. I'm trying to run a select where a uniqueidentifier/GUID equals a hex, but I don't seem to be getting matches. What format should your foreign key be i.e.
Globally means that no other computer in the world has the same the uniqueidentifier value.
So, to me it stands to reason that you cannot join on uniqueidentifier because it's a randomly.
The following statements declare a variable with type UNIQUEIDENTIFIER and assign it a GUID value generated by the NEWID() function. Quick question, your ID field should be formatted as uniqueidentifier usually! The uniqueidentifier is datatype in SQL Server.
